CHARACTERISTICS OF LIVING SPIRITUALLY-MOVEMENT

Living things move!
Not all that move is living but all that is living will have some form of movement whether noticeable or not.
Some movements are internal with substances being transported from one part of the body to another. Other movement is external and visible to the observer viz. Locomotion, blinking of eyes, and movements of limbs.
While you were sleeping apparently dead to the world a lot of movement was taking place within your body.
Movement in living things is self directed i.e. it happens by volition of the individual.  Movement in healthy living things always tends towards more favorable environment.
Movement in human beings also usually takes the form of exercise or recreation.
A living fish is able to swim against the tide...a dead fish simply flows wherever the tide takes it.
We are either a movement or a monument!

A Christian's life is never static but is always in motion. It's either forward or backward....upward or downward ...progression or regression...building or breaking...or as our LORD said...gathering or scattering! So...are you with me or against me here? J
Our Christian life is a walk, a race, a journey…a movement
There is movement away from and movement towards.

We are commanded to follow after certain things:
Romans 14:19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
1 Corinthians 14:1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
Most important is that we follow the Good Shepherd and not stray away from His Voice!

We are also advised to move away from, or flee from certain things.
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry. 1Co 10:13-14 KJV
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 1Ti 6:9-11 KJV
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 2Ti 2:22-23 KJV

PHYSICAL MOVEMENT
SPIRITUAL CHARACTERISTICS
SCRIPTURE/COMMENTS

Movement from one place to another geographically
We are on a constant spiritually journey upwards. Jesus’ command to follow Him implies that He is taking you on a journey. It is a walk of faith with the disciple trusting the Lord to lead him as he follows by faith.
Philippians 3:12-14 KJV 12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.  13  Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,  14  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
There is within the body, constant movement that is vital to the well being and development of the body. Cells are continuously on the go, transporting, building up and repairing while getting rid of harmful substances.
We are to be perfected through patience

In our life we are to constantly present our bodies to the LORD and be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 2Co 4:16 KJV

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. Jas 1:2-4 KJV
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Rom 12:1-2 KJV
There is also a finely coordinated movement between various organs and parts to benefit the body as a whole.
The Christian benefits from the corporate assembling of the body developing and maturing through that which every part supplies.
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Heb 10:24-25 KJV
From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. Eph 4:16 KJV

Romans 12:1-2 KJV  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Philippians 2:12-13 KJV  12   Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.  13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Ephesians 3:20-21 KJV  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,  21   Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

1 Corinthians 6:19 KJV What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
A temple is a place where a lot of worshipful activity should be taking place.

Hebrews 13:20-21 KJV Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,  21  Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Hebrews 12:1-2. Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:12-13 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; 13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

Romans 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
