FROM MISSION IMPOSSIBLE TO MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Acts 4:1-13 KJV  And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,  2  Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.  3  And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.  4  Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.  5  And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,  6  And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.  7  And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?  8  Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,  9  If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;  10  Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.  11  This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.  12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.  13  Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

Jesus Handpicked His Misfits!
In Luke 6:12-16 we have an account of Jesus selecting his twelve.
Luke 6:12-16 KJV  And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.  13  And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;  14  Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,  15  Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes,  16  And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.

Jesus' disciples were picked by Him after a night of prayer!
What kind of men would you interview and employ for your business? If you wanted to make a success of any venture you would go out of your way to find the best persons for the job!
The disciples were as ordinary a bunch of misfits you will ever come across, yet it pleased the Lord, Who knew all men, to pick those men!
They were deliberately handpicked!
They did not look like world conquerors.
They did not look like anything!
They were constantly arguing and squabbling over who would be the greatest in the kingdom, sleeping when they were told to pray, denying that they knew Him, running away when Jesus was taken in Gethsemane, doubting His Word of His Resurrection! The women showed more courage than these men who Jesus picked. Yet Jesus was planning to start a world shaking mission with these very men!

The bunch of misfits that Jesus picked were a delight to Him! He enjoyed picking what the elite referred to as "unlearned and ignorant men". They were a bunch who had no idea what to do, and they kept getting it wrong! But The Lord was patient and loving with them...all the time!
They were always thinking in fleshly and earthly terms and He delighted in demonstrating the unlimited resources of His Father! Our Father!
They wanted to know where and how they going to get bread to feed the thousands! He showed them where and He showed them how!
They thought they were going to their death when He decided to visit Lazarus. Instead He took them to a resurrection party!
Peter toiled all night and caught nothing! Jesus said launch out into the deep and let down the nets! Against all odds and natural laws He showed them how to really fish! He had to remind Peter of this after His resurrection!
They worried about taxes! He literally fished it out for them!
Their physical limitations cried out at the life threatening storm! He showed them that He was Master of the wind and the waves!

Connected by Commission to Draw on His Resources
Jesus may have been limited by His physical body but His resources were unlimited! He was connected! He knew how to withdraw from the resource, when to withdraw, and why to withdraw!
What these handpicked men failed to grasp during their association with the Lord, a Gentile centurion, and a Syrophoenician woman grasped! The woman with the issue of blood recognized there was something about Jesus, that all you needed was a connection!  She reached out and made that connection!
What made the difference in the lives of the disciples after Pentecost? The Holy Spirit had come and empowered them, and they suddenly realized that it was not about them, but about Jesus, and only Jesus!

When He commissioned them Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  19  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:18-20 KJV

He is saying that you are to do the work based on my power and resources! Preach the gospel, heal the sick and cast out devils by His authority! It's not by your own strength but by His Spirit! Wait for the Holy Ghost, He said! Wait for the power, He said! That's our connection! His abiding and Indwelling! Our abiding and dependency on Him! He makes good on His Word!
Jesus told Paul, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. and Paul said, Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV

It's what we have to continuously remember! It's why we have to remind ourselves and recognize that it is never about our ability, and the church is not managed by the methods of the world! For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:  27  But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;  28  And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:  29  That no flesh should glory in his presence. 1 Corinthians 1:26-29 KJV
It's not by our abilities or sufficiency And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:  5  Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;  6  Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 2 Corinthians 3:4-6 KJV

So when we say "I can't do this", or "I can't do that", with reference to the work of the Lord, we are in actuality saying that it's all about me, and not about Him. We're saying it's about what I can do, and we're limiting ourselves to our abilities and resources. However when we look out of ourselves, and beyond ourselves, and we are looking to Him and His resources, which He has made available to us!

A wondrously beautiful thing happens when recognize and accept our human limitations for what they are, and begin instead, to trust in the strength and power of our God! We realize it's no longer up to us and to our limited resources. We're no longer looking to ourselves and our own limited resources. We're looking to the God Who is able supply and equip us, for whatever He has called us to do.
We will stop retreating into a corner of self defeat by saying "I can't do that", because no longer is it about us, but it is about Him Who is able to exceedingly abundant above all that I can ask or think, according to the power that works in us!  We are able to step out knowing that He who called us is able to supply and equip, and we are drawing on His unlimited resources!

Unlimited Resources in Him!
It's like a man who has to build a house but has only 500 dollars at his disposal. He will not get very far in his project, and at the best may end up with a tiny hovel not fit to be called a house. In addition to that, he will be in a constant state of tension and stress over whether he is able to complete it or not! However if that man is commissioned by a bank to build, and has a 10 million dollars credit line at the bank, we can expect something grand!
When Moses killed the one Egyptian who was beating the Israelite, he was a man alone, albeit a prince in Egypt! When he returned 40 years later, he had at his disposal the unlimited resources of Yahweh! His encounter at the burning bush dealt with his mentality of it being all about him, and it became all about Yahweh! Instead of throwing his fists about he was now throwing out miracles!
Many times we are so anxious, and we worry, and we fret, and we're stressed, and we're overwrought, because we are struggling in our own, and on our own. We simply pay lip service to the might of God on Sunday, then move back into our tiny struggling lives. We have made it all about us. We have wrapped ourselves, layer by layer into cocoons of our own unbelief and cynicism, and as each layer hardened we have slowly but surely become limited by the resulting shell. Some of us are so enshrouded and mummified in our own selfish shell, that any motion is difficult, if not impossible.
We have limited ourselves severely by thinking it's all about us, and our efforts, and our resources.
But it's not!
We fail to take into account, that whatever He commissions, He will empower and supply according to His riches! It's no longer about us, or our abilities, or our skills, or our resources! It's about His power, His supply, His enablement! He never reneges on His promises! In Christ they are all yea and amen! Outside of Christ we're struggling alone, with inadequate resources, with limited supplies, with the frailty and weakness of men, and regardless of how impressive it may seem in the eyes on man, it's never about Christ. If the ministry and labor does not point to Christ continuously, it doesn't count! We labor in vain, we beat the air, we've wasted our efforts, and are exhausted for no reasonable service. His strength is made perfect in our weakness!

Our father's Business UNLTD!
We see businesses and companies marked ltd signifying their limited status. When Jesus said that He must be about His Father's business we see no limitations! He declared Nothing shall be impossible to you! If you can only believe, all things are possible! With God all things are possible! Whereas earthly companies have Ltd at the end of their titles, God's business has Unltd! It's UNLIMITED!
When David's brothers and the rest of the army ran from Goliath's challenge, they did so out of recognition of their limited status. David was not looking at his limitations. He was well aware of that, but he was looking beyond, knowing that this battle was not his alone, but it was the Lord's! Without the Lord he was limited to 5 stones and a sling. With the Lord, Goliath was already dead and finally about to close his eyes when David opened a third eye in his forehead!
When the prince in Mark Twain's novel, disguised as a pauper and exchanged his lifestyle with Tom Canty, he quickly found out how limited he had become without his father's wealth and power at his disposal!
When we worry, it's because we are thinking from a selfish, limited perspective. If we have left it in His hands there is nothing to worry about. He's neither careless nor indifferent!
From seemingly impossible odds the disciples rose to become a force to be reckoned with! They created waves wherever they went, because they were not depending on their frail and limited human resources! They were able to accomplish the impossible because they drew on the heavenly resources of the Heavenly Father!
What had once appeared as mission impossible, actually became mission accomplished, for in His Name they turned the world upside down!
And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;  Acts 17:6 KJV

Paul wanted us to comprehend and understand the scope of this resource available when he prayed for the saints at Ephesus: For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,  15  Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,  16  That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;  17  That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,  18  May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;  19  And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.  20  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,  21  Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21 KJV

On their own, the branches of the vine will wither and dry without producing anything! It's when they are connected to the vine that they draw sustenance and produce fruit!  Jesus said :
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.  5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.  6  If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.  7  If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.  8  Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. John 15:4-8 KJV

OH BE CAREFUL LITTLE TONGUES WHAT YOU SAY!

Little insignificant-looking things affect big things
Insignificant, seemingly harmless things, can cause great destruction and damage.
Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.  Song of Solomon 2:15 KJV
Mouth worries does not remain in the mouth but affects the whole body! We use our tongues unconsciously the majority of our lives. It moves with the inclination of the soul, because it has been accustomed to do so all our natural lives.
Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.  5  Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!  6  And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.  7  For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:  8  But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.  9  Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.  10  Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.  11  Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?  12  Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.  13  Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. James 3:4-13 KJV

Who is at the helm? Who's in control of the tongue? Who directs your life?
The rudder steers the ship, and the tongue steers the person. The direction they go is determined by who is in charge of the steering.
In the hands of a skilled helmsman the ship is made to go in the desired direction. The ship may be driven by fierce winds, which will toss and drive the ship in whatever direction they  please, but with the rudder in the hands a skilled helmsman, the ship can be steered in the direction of choice.

Our tongue talk affects our spiritual walk
The tongue can be a killer or a life giver! It all depends on how it is used and Who controls it!
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.  Proverbs 18:21 KJV
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.  Ephesians 4:29 KJV
For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.  44  For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.  45  A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. Luke 6:43-45 KJV
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.  Proverbs 15:4 KJV
We too may be driven by fierce winds that, if given the opportunity, will toss us to and fro. However with the Spirit anointed control of our tongues, we will be able to speak life and not death to ourselves and others.

The Tongue Tamer! The Holy Spirit is our Guide.
We cannot tame our tongues! Only the Holy Spirit can! He is the Guide on the Way we walk and He is the Helmsman on our rudder to steer our talk! IF WE ALLOW HIM!!!
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.  John 16:13 KJV
But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.  1 John 2:27 KJV
The Holy Spirit take the Word of God and applies them to our lives.
Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.  2  For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;  3  How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;  4  God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will? Hebrews 2:1-4 KJV
Since we were born into this world, we have been ruled by our flesh and soul.
When we were born again into the kingdom of God, our spirit came alive through the indwelling Holy Spirit.
While our soul and body continue to pull downward, minding the things of the flesh, our spirit is inclined heavenward and mind the things of the spirit. We have to make a constant choice about which direction we will incline toward. When we allow the Holy Spirit to be in control, He takes Word of God and separates the soulish from the spiritual.  He steers and enables us to speak the words of life. We ignore Him at our own peril!
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.  Hebrews 4:12 KJV
Remember what is in the heart issues through the mouth! Determine in yourself to speak the words of life. Determine to speak the Word of God.  Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.  4  Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties. Psalms 141:3-4 KJV

WILT THOU BE MADE WHOLE? POTENCY VS IMPOTENCY

Sermon Notes Posted Below Video

After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.  2  Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.  3  In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.  4  For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.  5  And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.  6  When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?  7  The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.  8  Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.  9  And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath. John 5:1-9 KJV
And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31  But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. John 20:30-31 KJV

I've always had a slight dislike for this man because of John 5:15! However my dislike is irrelevant  because the Bible says  this was written that we might believe! So let's dive right in, believing the Holy Spirit for revelation knowledge and enlightening!

A. WILT THOU BE MADE WHOLE? DUH! YOU THINK?
Let's see:
The man had been there a long time.
He had that infirmity for 38 years!
He was by the pool for one purpose only: Healing!
And here comes, (to him), a total stranger asking the obvious! Wilt thou be made whole?
So it seems as though Jesus asked a stupid and silly question huh, which deserved an equally stupid and silly response?
Aren't we all tempted to be a smart aleck with the wisecrack and obnoxious comeback? Sometimes we may be a wee bit polite and refrain from vocalizing what we really think, but it's there all the same!
But remember this!!!
God's foolishness is wiser than men!
He never asks foolish questions! He never voices the redundant! HE'S RELEVANT!
Every Word is for a purpose and it WILL accomplish that purpose. We can chose to respond foolishly and lose out big time, or take Him seriously at His Word, when He lays down the challenge!

When someone has been in a unfortunate way for a long time, sad things happen.
1.      We can become accustomed and adapted to the condition until we accept it as the norm. When this happens our vision becomes hampered and nearsighted. We no longer see the big picture! We just potter around mentally in our tiny world! It's so tiny because it consists of only three persons; me, myself and I. Oh no, that's really only one person!

2.      We can lose hope and become caught and entangled in the bondage of discouragement and bitterness. Discouragement and bitterness are a faith-killing tag team!
When what we expect does not happen, it can be discouraging! Ask Elijah! When discouraged, we are ready to give up and let things run their course. We fall into the "whatever" mode, using that offensive and impolite one word statement of dismissive indifference! Bitterness is generally tagged in quickly, and not only does the affected ones end up with a confused and distorted outlook, living in silent resentment, but they become carriers of the deadly disease, affecting others with whom they associate! Its poisonous influence can destroy a whole congregation! Ask Joshua and Caleb!

3.     We can go through the motions even though we have given up. We are now doing something, not because we want to, but because we're expected to! There's no joy, no eagerness, no sense of anticipation and expectancy! Just a dull routine, and a despondent discharge of duty! We exhibit the hanging hands, feeble knees and twisted feet mentioned in Hebrews 12:15!

This man was waiting there and kept trying! He never gave up.
The man could have said like so many of us today: "DUH! Why do you think I am here?" But he didn't! His answer to Jesus shows something about his character. He never gave up! He never stopped trying. Somebody was always there before him, but he kept on trying. He had one motive, one focus, one goal! To get to the pool when it was stirred! He did not know who Jesus was! He did not know Who was standing before him! But his future depended on his response. Would it be cynical hopelessness? Would it be angry at the unfairness?
He said, While I am coming another steps down before me. But he never stopped coming! He never stopped trying!
Some of us have given up! We now live under a covering of indifference and cynical skepticism. We come to church and go through the motions, then go out and continue our ordinary lives, because we have given up on the inside. We have stopped trying. We have adopted the form of godliness, and are doubtful about the power, or have denied the power. We have allowed unbelief to slowly settle into all the tiny spaces of our persona. We have allowed it to slowly harden and stiffen in our hearts creating an unyielding statue!
For 38 years but he never gave up! He kept going to the altar! He kept trying even though he never got it. And that is what Jesus wanted to hear! What is my attitude telling God about me today? Have I given up, and am I just going through the motions?

B. WILT THOU BE MADE WHOLE? HUH! WHO'S ASKING?

THE CREATOR! The Bible introduces God as creator!  "In the beginning GOD CREATED!"
The creative power of God is immense and beyond human imagination! Think of the tiny invisible atom, and the energy contained in the nucleus of combined protons and neutrons! Think of the city-shattering energy released, when atomic nuclei are split as an atom bomb is detonated! Mass changes into enormous amounts of energy!
Einstein defined the amount of energy in his equation E=mc2 where energy (E) is mass (m) multiplied by the speed of light (c) squared.
The "Little Boy" bomb used in the Hiroshima bombing of August 6, 1945 employed 141 lbs of enriched uranium of which less that 2 lbs underwent nuclear fission. There was total destruction one mile in diameter while within a two and a half mile diameter everything flammable burned!

In the reverse, give or take errors in calculation, that vast amount of energy, stored up in that small amount of material is what was required to make the atomic nuclei stay together and was used in creating it! Now think of the mass of the earth which is about 1.3 x 1025 pounds, very small by astronomical numbers! Think of the millions, nay billions, nay trillions, who knows, of planets and stars in the universe! The energy locked up in them beggars description and staggers the mind! All that incomprehensible amount of energy, required to bring about all the mass of the universe, resulted when God spoke and said Let there be!!! The power of God's Words is displayed in creation!
For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.  Psalms 33:9 KJV
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.  Hebrews 11:3 KJV
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;  Hebrews 1:3 KJV

The Word of His Power!
It upholds all things!
Should the Word fail all things disappear!  Can you imagine what happens when the Word no longer upholds all things?
When the day of the Lord comes and the Lord withdraws the upholding power of His Word things will suddenly go KABOOOOOOOM!
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.  2 Peter 3:10 KJV

The creation is, every single  moment, solid evidence of the creative, sustaining Power of The Word! We're surrounded by His upholding power! That power is around us, above us, beneath us and WITHIN US!  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,  Ephesians 3:20 KJV. That power works within us.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.  Hebrews 4:12 KJV
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.  Proverbs 30:5 KJV. His Word is Pure Energy and Power!
This Word is that by which we are born again! Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.  1 Peter 1:23 KJV
It is no coincidence that Jesus is called the Word of God!
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.  Revelation 19:13 KJV
John 1:1-2 KJV  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  2  The same was in the beginning with God.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.  John 1:14 KJV

AND THAT WORD WAS ASKING THE MAN "WILT THOU BE MADE WHOLE?"

C.  WILT THOU BE MADE WHOLE? UH! WELL, DO YOU?
How much did the Syrophoenician woman want a healing for her daughter? She ignored insults to get her prayer answered. She wanted that healing badly! She wanted only the crumb that was discarded! It was enough for the healing and deliverance she desired!

How much did Bartimaeus want to see? He was willing to create a scene to see the scenery! He wanted to see so badly! He wanted the attention of the WORD, and was determined to continue making himself a public nuisance until he got that attention!

The centurion understood the authority and power of the WORD The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.  Matthew 8:8 KJV

The woman with the issue of blood  wanted only to touch the hem of the garment belonging to the WORD!

"WILT THOU BE MADE WHOLE?" The Word challenges you and it is no idle challenge, no passing whim or fancy! The Word is REAL! The question is real!
How long will we continue to take it? To roll with the punches, taking everything as they come without fighting back? How long will we continue to remain aloof, untouched, unmoved in unbelief? How long will we continue to give slick answers; to live slick answers! O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.  14  Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise. Jeremiah 17:13-14 KJV

Broken lives, broken families, broken relationships, broken up people! Wretched lives, ignoring the WORD Who came in flesh, and offered Himself up on Calvary!
Why?
So that His Body can be broken for us! So that the WORD can be a part of us, and we a part of Him! So that His Blood can validate,  authenticate and substantiate  the covenant between us and Father, where all He has is now ours, and all our broken, battered, beaten and bruised lives are handed to Him for healing and re-creation! So that we're no more strangers but children, beloved of Father, and drawn to Him with cords of Love! So that we can touch Life, be connected with Life! So that we can live where the healing waters flow and that Life can flow through us!
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  Romans 1:16 KJV
But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.  1 Peter 1:25 KJV

SO! WILT THOU BE MADE WHOLE?
